Our implementation
Every year group learns through a series of topics, designed to build on subject knowledge and skills year on year. Most subjects are taught through these topics, with age-appropriate schemes of work for PSHE and PE. Maths and phonics are taught discreetly from the topic learning, using objectives from the National Curriculum and the Letters and Sounds guidance respectively.
FUNDRAISING
FUNDRAISING
Raising vital funds for the school
We are a group of parents and friends of St John's school, who arrange fundraising and social events each term. Money raised from these events is spent on items such as, book sets for the library, Year 6 leavers' gifts and wet play games.
We are currently raising money for a large project to redesign the main playground areas and purchase new climbing equipment.
There are many ways in which you can be involved, depending on the amount of time you can offer:
- Suggest an idea for raising money and plan/coordinate the event;
- Volunteer to help at a fundraising event;
- Offer your talents at a fundraising event, eg. face painting, cake baking, even bingo calling!
We aim to offer one fundraising event per half term, mostly for the children to take part in, but some for the adults too. Past events have included summer and Christmas fairs, quiz night, Easter egg hunts and discos.
Please contact the school office if you can help in any way, no matter how small a contribution you think you can make. We will be very grateful for your support!
